Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zairf said that establishing good relations with neighboring countries is among top priorities of the government.

"Regional issues will be discussed during Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's visit to Turkey," Zarif said, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on June 8.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, President Rouhani is planned to pay an official visit to Turkey on June 9.

During his visit, Rouhani will hold meetings with Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Press TV reported.

Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said on Thursday that talks on cooperation in the energy sector will be the main issue of discussion in Turkey.

The Iranian minister arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Wednesday and met with the Turkish prime minister and other officials including Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Vaezi also stated that Turkey was interested in increasing natural gas imports from the Islamic Republic, adding that Iran welcomes such plans based on its policy of expanding cooperation with neighboring countries.

Tehran and Ankara seek to boost their annual economic transactions up to $30 by 2015.
