Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said that even the United States doesn't dare to attack Iran.

"Iran's borders are safe and no enemy dares to attack the country," Jafari said, Iran's Fars News Agency reported on June 23.

"The U.S. attacked Afghanistan and Iraq and surrounded our country. They planned to attack Iran as well, but when they saw our defense potential, they changed their mind," he said.

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan on March 31 underlined Iran's defense capabilities, reiterating that the Islamic Republic "can respond to threats at any level."

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems, Press TV reported.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries since the Islamic Republic's defense doctrine is based entirely on deterrence.
