Iran’s exports to Azerbaijan continue to fall

Iran has exported $188.252 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the 5-month period from March 21 to Aug. 23, which indicates a fall by 15.81 percent compared to the same months of the preceding year (Iran's fiscal year starts on March 21).

Iran has exported $188.252 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the 5-month period from March 21 to Aug. 23, which indicates a fall by 15.81 percent compared to the same months of the preceding year (Iran's fiscal year starts on March 21).

Iran exported some 1.094 million tonnes of goods to Azerbaijan during that period which is 11.98 percent less compared the 5-month period of last year, the Iranian Customs Administration said in its latest monthly report released Sept. 2.

Iran also imported some $ 11.394 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the period, 40 percent more than the last fiscal year's first five months.

Iran-Azerbaijan trade balance, stood at $176.85 million in the 5-month period, compared to $214.553 million in the same period of the preceding year.

Iran has exported 178,953 tonnes of goods, worth $36.806 million to Azerbaijan during the 5th Iranian calendar month of Mordad (July 23-Aug. 23) which indicates a fall of 33.72 percent in terms of volume and 18.66 percent in terms of value respectively compared to the same period of last year. Azerbaijan's exports to Iran stood at $1.369 million in the same month.

Iran's trade balance with Azerbaijan stood at $450 million in the previous Iranian fiscal year, which ended on March 20.

Iran Customs administration reported that the country's exports to Azerbaijan surpassed $482 million, meanwhile Tehran imported $32 million worth of goods from Baku in the mentioned period.

Iran's total non-oil exports (excluding gas condensates) to foreign countries surpassed $13.782 billion during the 5-month period from March 21, which indicates an increase by 9.34 percent compared to the same months of the preceding year.

Tehran also imported about $21.981 billion worth of goods during the period, which indicates a rise by 33.58 percent, compared to the 5-month period of the preceding year (21 March, 2013 to 23 August 2013).
