A member of the US House of Representatives Dan Burton, commenting on the decision of the Congress International Relations Committee on the support of the two bills on recognition of the “Armenian genocide” stated, the issue is on the agenda for the last 20 years, whereas the congressmen have more important issues to discuss”.
Dan Burton in his interview with the В"Washington Post” newspaper noted, “the events took place 100 years ago, and he personally got acquainted with the subject only 20 years ago”, Trend reports citing the Turkish media.
According to Burton, instead of discussing issues connected with liquidation of the Catharine hurricane consequences or fighting terrorism, “the US Congress debates one and the same issue at one and the same time each year”.
