Iran and Russia have emphasized the need to boost industrial and engineering cooperation.

Ramezan-Ali Sobhani-Far, chairman of the Iran-Russia Friendship Group met with Russian ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan in Tehran, calling to boost bilateral ties, especially in industrial and engineering fields, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on September 29.

The two sides agreed that the implementation of previously signed agreements and the facilitation of travels for Iranian and Russian traders can help enhance the bilateral trade.

"The value of bilateral trade between Iran and Russia can rise more than tenfold," Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said in September.

"In the Iranian calendar year 1392 which ended on March 20, 2014, the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to $1.5 billion, which has the capacity to be increased to more than 10 times through efforts made so far," Zanganeh said.
