Iran’s exports to Azerbaijan fall by 16%

Iran has exported $227.758 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the 6-month period from March 21 to Sept. 22, which indicates a fall by 16.04 percent compared to the same months of the preceding year (Iran's fiscal year starts on March 21).

Iran exported some 1.214 million metric tons of goods to Azerbaijan during that period which is 20.28 percent less compared the 6-month period of last year, the Iranian Customs Administration said in its latest monthly report released Oct. 2.

Iran also imported some $12.531 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the period, 13.92 percent more than the last fiscal year's first six months (March 21 to Sept. 22, 2013).

Iran-Azerbaijan trade balance, stood at $215.226 million in the 6-month period, compared to $ 259 million in the same period of the preceding year.

Iran has exported 119,030 metric tons of goods, worth $39.505 million to Azerbaijan during the 6th Iranian calendar month of Shahrivar (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) which indicates a fall of 57.32 percent in terms of volume and 17.12 percent in terms of value respectively compared to the same period of last year.

Iran's trade balance with Azerbaijan stood at $450 million in the previous Iranian fiscal year, which ended on March 20.

Iran Customs administration reported that the country's exports to Azerbaijan surpassed $482 million, meanwhile Tehran imported $32 million worth of goods from Baku in the mentioned period.

The Islamic Republic's total non-oil exports (excluding gas condensates) to foreign countries surpassed $16.685 billion during the 6-month period from March 21 to Sept. 22, which indicates an increase by 9.3 percent compared to the same months of the preceding year.

Tehran also imported about $26.021 billion worth of goods during the period, which indicates a rise by 29.54 percent, compared to the 6-month period of the preceding year (21 March, 2013 to 23 August 2013).
