Iran is considering the possibility of exporting dairy products to Russia, and has sent teams of expers there to study the market situation, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on October 13.

"The experts will inform us about the items needed for Russia to import and the market prices there as well," Head of Iranian Dairy Industries Union Mohammad Reza Esmaeeli said.

He said that Iran does have potential to export dairy products to Russia, but would initiate export only if the domestic prices will remain at the same level.

Previously, a high-ranking delegation from Russia visited Iran and asked the country to increase its agricultural products and food stuff exports to Moscow in order to meet the country's domestic demands.

Head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Yahya Al-e Es'haq said on September 22 that western sanctions imposed on Russia have created a great opportunity for Iranian goods to enter Russian market.

On Sept. 9 Iran and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation, which includes documents for cooperation in different fields such as industrial, mineral, trade, agricultural, tourism, technology, border issues, and energy.
