Inflation to exceed two percent in Azerbaijan in 2015 - ministry

The inflation growth rate is expected to be 2.3 percent in 2015 in accordance with the forecasts of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry, the presentation of the state and consolidated budget projects of Azerbaijan for next year, released by the Finance Ministry said.

As of nine months of 2014, the country's inflation was 1.5 percent.

The consumer price growth rates are projected at 3.5 percent in 2014, according to the socio-economic development concept.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts inflation at the level of 2.8 percent in Azerbaijan in 2014, which is one of the lowest inflation rates in the world. According to the IMF forecasts, the country's inflation will be three percent in 2015.

According to the EBRD forecasts, consumer inflation will not exceed 1.6 percent in Azerbaijan by late 2014.

ADB forecasts inflation in Azerbaijan for 2014 and 2015 at 4 and 3.5 percent respectively.
