Iran's Lavan Refinery, located in southern Hormozgan Province, plans to expand its mini refineries in order to produce high value-added products through making small investments into these refineries.
Mohammad-Ali Dadvar, the managing director of Lavan Refinery, said the plan is aimed to produce high value-added products, such as aromatics using naphtha, Iran's Fars news agency reported on October 21.
Another plan is underway for producing bitumen, industrial oils, Euro-4 gasoline and diesel, he noted.
The projects will cost $400-500 million, he said.
Lavan Oil Refinery also became the first in the country to sell naptha through an energy bourse.
