By Fatih Karimov - Trend:
Iran exports only five percent of its plaster product annually, which is less than $70 million worth.
Mozaffar Alikhani, secretary general of the confederation of Iranian exports, said the plaster market is in recession, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on November 21.
He said that due to high volume and high transportation costs, plaster exports are not considerable, adding that among Iran's destinations for plaster are Persian Gulf states, as well as India, Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.
The plaster production industrial units are required to be renovated and modernized, he added.
Currently, 3500 persons directly and 6000 persons indirectly are working in this industry in the country, he said.
