German companies should boost presence in the Iranian market.

Iranian Industry Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh met with a group of 36 representatives of large German companies, headed by the chairman of NUMOV, the German Near and Middle East Association, in Tehran, Iran's Shana news agency reported on Dec. 7.

The Iranian minister said German companies should benefit from investment opportunities in Iran. German companies should not wait and see when the international sanctions on Iran are lifted, he added.

The German delegation includes managers of companies which are active in energy, oil and gas, mining, car, IT, and dam building industries.

According to the Iran Customs Administration, Germany was the 11th biggest importer of non-oil goods from Iran and the sixth biggest exporter of non-oil goods to the country in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2014.

Iran exported $335.2 million of non-oil goods to Germany and imported $2.451 billion worth of non-oil goods from the European country.
