Iranian deputy oil minister and Afghanistan's national security advisor have met recently and discussed dispute over quality of Iran's exported gasoline to Afghanistan, Afghani Ambassador to Tehran Nasir Ahmad Nour said.

The officials have discussed ways to resume Iran's gasoline exports to Afghanistan, Ahmad Nour said, Iranian Tasnim news agency reported Jan. 21.

The officials met two weeks ago, the ambassador said without unveiling further details about the talks' results.

Iranian media outlets reported on Jan. 11 that Afghanistan has stopped importing Iranian oil products due to their substandard quality. Mohammad Ali Khashi, Director General of Iran's South Khorasan Customs Office said importing oil products was stopped on Dec. 22, 2014.

Afghanistan has insisted that Iranian oil products do not meet euro-4 standards, Khashi said, adding 160 consignments of gasoline and fuel oil have been prevented from entering Afghanistan.

Ahmad Nour said that the issue is not related to Iran only, and Afghanistan has decided to stop substandard oil products' import from any country.
