The European countries exported over 12.131 million metric tons of goods, worth $9.929 billion to Iran during the first 11 months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21, 2014 - Feb. 20).

The Islamic Republic's imports from the Europe registered an increase by 69.23 percent in terms of volume and 10.78 percent in terms of value respectively compared the same period of last year, the Iranian Customs Administration said in its latest monthly report released March 2.

The EU countries shared 20.58 percent of Iran's total imports in terms of value during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

Asian countries maintained their dominant share of 77.37 percent from Iran 's imports during the 11-month period. Tehran imported some 24.603 million metric tons of goods, worth $37.337 billion from Asian countries during that period.

The mentioned amount is 15.14 and 12.43 percent more in terms of volume and value respectively, compared the 11-month period of last year.

Iran's imports from North and South America also witnessed a 4 percent increase during the period and amounted to $732 million. The Islamic Republic imported over 870,000 metric tons of goods from the continent - 6.53 percent more year on year.

Tehran's imports from Oceania (428,000 metric tons) and Africa (31,000 metric tons) also registered an increase by 3546 percent and 244.3 percent respectively in terms of volume during the period in comparison with the 11-month period of preceding year.

The country's imports from Oceania stood at $192 million, while the African countries exported $66 million worth of goods to the Islamic Republic during the period, 199.8 percent and 122.3 percent more respectively year on year.

The Islamic Republic's non-oil exports (excluding condensates) stood at $32.633 billion, while imports accounted for $48.258 billion in the first 11 months of current fiscal year.

Iran's overall non-oil trade turn over stood at $94.564 billion during the period.
