National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Managing Director Nasser Sajadi said that Iran's export of gasoil, kerosene, and fuel oil to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan will increase.

Speaking during a press conference where he commented on statistics of the oil sector in the current Iranian fiscal year (Mar. 21, 2014 to Mar. 20, 2015), Sajadi said that Iranian power plants have reduced their consumption of 8.3 billion liters of liquid fuel in the current year because they have changed their fuel into gas.

Therefore, we will have the opportunity to export the extra liquid fuels to these countries, he noted, Mehr news agency reported Mar. 7.

The official added that Iran has managed to increase its oil products storage capacity by 550 million liters.

He stated that the oil storage capacities launched during the current Iranian year are situated in the cities of Mahshahr, Shiraz, Malayer and a number of other places with a total capacity of 530 million liters.

Starting the next year, the Urmia and Birjand storage facilities will also be operational which will add another 230 million liter storage capacity to the previous number, he said.

NIORDC distributed 71.4 billion liters of oil products domestically 324 days into the current Iranian year (started Mar. 21), a report said Feb. 10.

NIORDC CEO Mohammad Reza Mazloumi then said that the gasoline sent to power plants and other consumption and distribution ports has amounted to 33 billion liters in the meantime.

December 2012, Iran's Oil Ministry signed an agreement with Afghanistan's Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the annual export of one million tons of Iranian oil products.

According to the contract, Iran is expected to export products including gasoil, jet fuel and gasoline to Afghanistan.
