IMF predicts 0.6 GDP growth for Iran

The International Monetary Fund predicted that Iran's GDP growth would stand at 0.6 percent in 2015.

According to a report released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on April 14, Iran's GDP was estimated to be 3 percent in 2014, while this figure was -1.9 percent and -6.6 percent in 2013 and 2012 respectively.

The report put the country's inflation rate at 15.5 percent in 2015, the lowest rate since 2007.

Inflation rate in Iran rose to about 35 percent in 2013, but has decreased during Hassan Rouhani's office since mid-2013. However, it's expected that this figure to increase 16.5 percent in 2016.

The unemployment rate also is projected to stand at 12.3 percent, but would increase to 13.2 percent in 2016.
