By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says unaccountable intervention by some countries in Yemen contradicts international law.

The global community should decisively condemn such behaviors, Iran's ISNA news agency quoted Rouhani as saying April 21.

It is hoped that the Islamic Republic's proposed plan, including prompt ceasefire and resumption of broad national dialogue would be agreed upon, because this is the only way to resolve the crisis, Rouhani added.

Certainly, military intervention will not help resolve the problem, he said, adding that the problem should be resolved through dialogue.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on April 18 submitted a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon outlining a four-point peace plan for Yemen, where Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have been targeted for weeks by Saudi-led air strikes.

The plan calls for an immediate ceasefire and end of all foreign military attacks, humanitarian assistance, a resumption of broad national dialogue and "establishment of an inclusive national unity government."

"It is imperative for the international community to get more effectively involved in ending the senseless aerial attacks and establishing a ceasefire, ensuring delivery of humanitarian and medical assistance to the people of Yemen and restoring peace and stability to this country through dialogue and national reconciliation without pre-conditions," said Zarif's letter.

An international military operation kicked off on March 26 in Yemen against Iran-backed Shiite group (Ansarullah), with involvement of the armed forces of a number of Arab states led by Saudi Arabia.
