Iran's non-oil trade turnover plunges last month

Iran's trade turnover plunged during the last Iranian calendar month (March 21 to April 21).

According to the Iran Custom Administration's official website, Iran exported $2.731 billion, 7.77 percent less than the same period of last year while importing 1.971 billion worth of commodities - a 8.23 percent decrease.

The top export commodities were polyethylene, propane, butane and bitumen and the top export targets were China, Iraq, United Arab Emirate, Afghanistan and India.

Wheat imports shared 5.28 percent of Iran's total imports, while the barley, rice, auto and banana shared 2.57 percent, 2.41 percent, 1.93 percent and 1.65 percent of Iran's total imports respectively.

China, UAE, South Korea, Turkey and India were Iran's top exporters during last month.

Iran's total non-oil exports (including the gas condensate) were $49.774 billion, while imports stood at $52.447 billion during last fiscal year, ended on March 20.
