By Fatih Karimov - Trend: A large number of investors from Europe and the US will participate in a seminar on foreign investment in Iran which will be held during the sixth Iranian month (August 23-September 22), said Mohammad Fetanatfard, the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran.

Foreign investors are eager to invest in the country, he said, adding that they have held numerous meetings with managers of the Iranian capital market, Iran's Fars news agency quoted Fetanatfard as saying May 4.

A seminar will be held in Shahrivar month (August 23-September 22), during which mechanisms to facilitate the process of foreign investment will be clarified, he noted.

He went on to say that one of the mechanisms would be the possibility of making investment in the capital market online.

Moreover, special facilities will be offered to the neighboring countries investors, such as Iraq and Afghanistan, in the Iran Mercantile Exchange, he noted.

Iranian Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Ali Tayebnia said in January that the country's logical economic policies have persuaded international investors to prefer Iran as one of their most fruitful choices for investment.

"Foreign investors' enthusiasm for expanding investment in Iran is unprecedented," Tayebnia said.

He said that after two years of drop in foreign investments growth due to the sanctions the rate of investments has experienced positive growth since March 2014.

In December, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that his government is resolved to expand its economic and trade ties with the world countries.

"The government has based its policy on broadening economic (and trade) relations with the world," he said.
