Iran's petrochemical products export increased by 18.81 percent during last month to $1.144 billion year-to-year.

The value of Iran's petrochemical product exports before the West-imposed sanctions (2011) was at $1.25 billion per month on average, but decreased significantly afterwards.

However, after reaching an interim nuclear deal in November 2013 and eliminations of petrochemical-related sanctions on the country, Iran increased the petrochemicals export.

During last fiscal year, ended March 20, Iran exported 18.8 million metric tons of petrochemical products, with $14.241 billion worth.

During last month (March 21 to April 21) Iran exported 1.565 million metric tons of petrochemical products.

Petrochemical products share 27.55 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports (including the gas condensate) during last month, which was $2.371 billion. However, the country's gas condensate export decreased by 34.85 percent to 919,000 metric tons, with worth $523 million.

On the other hand, Iran's propane and butane exports decreased by 43 percent and 34.45 percent respectively to 205,000 and 143,000 metric tons in last month.

About 94.94 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports went Asia, while Iran imported about 76 percent of its total imports from this continent.
