Iran’s exports to Azerbaijan continue to fall

Iran's exports to Azerbaijan continue to fall in Iran's new fiscal year which started on March 21.

The Islamic Republic exported $20.35 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the first Iranian calendar month from March 21 to April 21.

The figure indicates a fall by 17 percent compared to the same period last year, the Iranian Customs Administration said in its latest monthly report.

Tehran exported some 50,416 metric tons of goods to Azerbaijan during the one-month period, which is 67 percent less in comparison to the same period last year (March 21-April 21, 2014).

Iran also imported some $911,000 worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the period, 415.7 percent less year on year.

Trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan reached $457.6 million during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended on March 20), 12.3 percent less compared to the preceding year.

Iran exported $435.4 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the period, which indicates a fall by 9.7 percent year on year.

The Islamic Republic also imported some $22.22 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the last fiscal year, 44 percent less year on year.

The Islamic Republic's non-oil exports (excluding condensates) stood at $2.209 billion during last Iranian calendar month (March 21-April 20), while imports accounted for $1.971 billion.
