Over 2.9M tons of oil and petrochemical products transacted at Iran ’s Mercantile Exchange

Baku, Azerbaijan, June 23

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Over 2.9 million metric tons of oil and petrochemical products were transacted at Iran's Mercantile Exchange in the first three months of the current Iranian fiscal year, which began on March 21.

The value of the transactions was around 42 trillion rials (about $1.3 billion based on market exchange rate), Iran 's Shana news agency reported June 23.

Meanwhile, 462,799 metric tons of polymer products, worth 18 trillion rials (about $550 million), and 166,387 metric tons of chemical products, valued at 3 trillion rials (about $9 million) were transacted at the mercantile exchange.

Moreover, 1.159 million metric tons of bitumen and 88,750 metric tons of sulfur were sold, valued at 11 trillion rials (about $330 million) and 280 billion rials (about $84 million), respectively.
