Iranian firms offering 77,000 tons of polymer products on mercantile exchange

Iranian petrochemical firms have started offering some 77,000 metric tons of polymer products at the oil and petrochemicals hall of the Iran Mercantile Exchange.

The petrochemical companies of Arvand, Amir Kabir, Ilam, Abadan, Arya Sasul, Bandar Emam, PoliNar, Tabriz, Takhte Jamshid, Tondgooyan, Jam, Rejal, Shazand, Qadir, Qaedbasir, Laleh, Maroon, Mehr, Jam Polypropylene, and Kermanshah Polymer are presenting 75 grades of polymer products, SHANA news agency reported July 7.

The products include butadiene styrene rubber, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, bottle polyethylene terephthalate, textile polyethylene terephthalate, linear low density polyethylene, low density polyethylene film, linear low density polyethylene pipe, high density polyethylene extrusion, pneumonic high density polyethylene, heavy polyethylene plastic, heavy polyethylene, heavy polyethylene film, high density polyethylene pipe, expanding polystyrene, styrofoam regular-resistance polystyrene, polypropylene chemical, polypropylene films, textile polypropylene and PVC.

Also, nine major asphalt producers are offering over 103,000 metric tons of their product on the stock market.

Iran exported 14.4 million tons of petrochemical products worth $10.1 billion in the previous calendar year (which ended on March 20).

Over 2.9 million metric tons of oil and petrochemical products were transacted at Iran 's Mercantile Exchange in the first three months of the current Iranian fiscal year, which began on March 21.

The value of the transactions was around 42 trillion rials (about $1.3 billion based on market exchange rate).

Meanwhile, 462,799 metric tons of polymer products, worth 18 trillion rials (about $550 million), and 166,387 metric tons of chemical products, valued at 3 trillion rials (about $9 million) were transacted at the mercantile exchange.

Moreover, 1.159 million metric tons of bitumen and 88,750 metric tons of sulfur were sold, valued at 11 trillion rials (about $330 million) and 280 billion rials (about $84 million), respectively.
