Artifact imports to Iran on rise

The import of artifacts into Iran has been on the rise recently, a report by the Iranian Customs Administration says.

In the first three months of the current Iranian fiscal year, which started March 20, the import of artifacts to Iran witnessed an increase of 104.21 percent in value and 530 percent in weight, Iran 's YJC news agency reported July 8.

The import of artifacts, art collections, and antique goods during the period was 1.3 metric tons in weight and worth $3,504.

However, the import of the said goods dropped to zero in the third Iranian month of Khordad (May 22 to June 21).

Tehran 's non-oil exports (including condensates) stood at $10.867 billion during first three months of current Iranian fiscal year, while imports accounted for $10.35 billion.
