The Iranian North Drilling Company (NDCO) is hoping that the country's nuclear deal with world powers will come with great gifts in the area of the company's activity.
"One of the things that we were grappling with during these years was the renovation of our industry, where due to the sanctions, it was impossible to procure parts as we should have," NDCO Sales, Marketing, and International Cooperation Director Yousof Khalili told Trend July 15.
Now with the nuclear deal, the problem will be lifted and there will be better access to the things that the company needs, he stated.
Also, he added, under the sanctions buying technology_ which is mostly in the hands of European and Amercian companies_ was restricted.
"If the sanctions are removed, we are sure to achieve higher performance and reduce costs," Khalili said.
He pointed out that under the deal, the NDCO will be removed from the list of Iranian companies under sanctions.
Although the company is capable of conducting business at the international level, its cooperation had been limited to Turkmenistan in the recent years due to the sanctions.
"Now we hope to be able to expand our cooperation to other countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, as well as the Persian Gulf littoral countries," Khalili added.
Iran and the group 5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) reached a comprehensive deal on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program, whereby economic sanctions on the country will be lifted.
The oil and gas sector is one of the areas hit worse by the sanctions which were imposed over alleged concerns about Iran's nuclear program.
