During the first three months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-June 21), 3.183 million people passed Iran's 24 border terminals, Director Transit and Border Terminals of Iran's Road Maintenance and Transport Organization Mohammad Javad Atrchian said.
Mehran and Bazargan terminals, in west and northwest of the country, had the highest number of passengers, with 430,000 passengers and 345,000 passengers, respectively, Iran's IRNA news agency quoted Atrchian as saying on July 25.
Moreover, 259,000 passengers moved via Mirjaveh terminal at Pakistan border, and 237,000 passengers moved via Tamarchin terminal at Iraq border, he noted.
Meanwhile, 196,000 passengers passed Astara terminal at Azerbaijan border, he said.
More than 12.85 million people, including some 3.34 million foreign tourists, passed Iran's 24 border terminals in the past Iranian fiscal year, ended on March 20, 2015, Atrchian said in April.
