By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran and the Netherlands will sketch a roadmap for agricultural cooperation in the near future.

The new ambassador of the Netherlands to Iran, Susana Trastal, met with Hooman Fathi, an official with Iran's Ministry of Agriculture, stressing the need for exchanging technical delegations to boost cooperation in the field of agriculture, IRNA news agency reported on September 1.

Fathi said that a delegation from Wageningen University of the Netherlands will travel to Iran in October to prepare the roadmap.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in technology transfer, expansion of greenhouses, launching joint ventures, and water management.

They also agreed to set up a joint agricultural committee in a bid to facilitate technological cooperation.

Iran exported $67.29 million of non-oil goods to the Netherlands, while imported $1.26 billion of non-oil goods from the country in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2015, according to the Iran Customs Administration.
