Iranian economic delegation to visit Serbia

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: A group of Serbian industrialists said they were interested in cooperating with Iran.

In a meeting with Majid Fahimpour, the Iranian ambassador to Serbia, the Serbian managers of companies and factories said they expected to start trade with Iranian partners once sanction against the Islamic Republic are lifted, Iran's IRNA news agency reported Sept. 9.

Representatives of Serbian rubber, shoe, textiles, construction, agriculture, furniture, food, and vehicle industries attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Fahimpour called on Iranian companies to take advantage of opportunities for cooperating with Serbia in energy, construction, medicine, and agriculture sectors.

An Iranian economic delegation will visit Serbia next week, he added.

Iran's Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Ali Tayebnia said in May that Iran is seeking to develop all-embracing ties with European countries. Expansion of ties with the Republic of Serbia as a strategic country in the Balkans is of high importance for Iran, he added.
