Iran’s exports to Azerbaijan almost halves

Iran's exports to Azerbaijan continue to fall in the sixth month of Iran 's current fiscal year that began March 21, according to the Iranian Customs Administration latest monthly report released Oct. 4.

The Islamic Republic exported $21.66 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the sixth Iranian calendar month from August 22 to Sept. 22. The figure indicates a decline of 50.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

Iran's exports to Azerbaijan during the first six months of current fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22) accounted for $132.84 million, 44.6 percent less year-on-year.

Iran also imported some $1.71 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the sixth calendar month, 50.3 percent more year-on-year.

The country's total imports from Baku during the six-month period stood at $10.72 million, 14.5 percent less compared to the first six months of last fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22, 2014).

Trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan reached $457.6 million during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended on March 20), 12.3 percent less compared to the preceding year.

Iran exported $435.4 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the period, which indicates a decline of 9.7 percent year-on-year.

The Islamic Republic also imported some $22.22 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the last fiscal year, 44 percent less year-on-year.

Tehran's non-oil exports (including condensates) stood at $20.5 billion in the first half of current fiscal year, while imports accounted for $20.85 billion.
