Iran’s aluminum ingot output rise

Some 181,334 tons of aluminum ingots were produced in Iran during the first half of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22).

The figure shows 3.4 percent growth compared to the same period of preceding year, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported Oct. 12.

Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO), produced 90,065 tons of aluminum ingots in the 6-month period, while the volume of aluminum ingot production in the Al-Mahdi Aluminum Corporation (AAC) and Hormozal companies stood at 40,692 and 50,577 tons respectively.

The three leading companies produced 29,182 tons of aluminum ingots in the sixth Iranian calendar month (Aug. 22-Sept. 22), three percent more year-on-year.

Iran produced 123,939 tons of alumina powder in the six-month period as well.

The Islamic Republic plans to produce 310,000 tons of aluminum ingots by the end of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 2016), which is materialized by 58.4 percent.

Tehran also has materialized its planned alumina powder output by 49.5 percent in the first half of the current fiscal year.

It was previously announced that Iran plans to increase its annual aluminum ingot production capacity up to 910,000 tons by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (March 2016).
