Iran’s inflation rate drops by 0.3%

The inflation rate in Iran for the 12-month period ended the last day of the seventh Iranian fiscal month of Mehr (October 22) fell to 13.3 percent, a 0.3 percent decrease compared to the previous month.

The Statistics Center of Iran reported that the inflation rate for the 12-month ended the last day of the sixth Iranian fiscal month was 13.6 percent.

The point-to-point inflation in the month of Mehr was 10.9 percent, compared to 11.6 percent in the previous month.

Curbing inflation was one of the major promises by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani during his presidential campaign.

Under the previous administration, inflation skyrocketed to cross 44%.
