By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi has denied that an official from US telecommunication company AT&T is an advisor to the national Iranian data network project.

"Such an issue is not correct, although the national Iranian data network project is being implemented with consultations from 12 to 15 foreign individuals," ISNA news agency quoted Vaezi as saying on November 1.

AT&T Inc. is an American multinational telecommunications corporation. It is the second largest provider of mobile telephones and the largest provider of fixed telephones in the United States.

The implementation of the national Iranian data network is a large project, which requires the participation of many parties, including Iranian expatriates, Vaezi explained.

"Several meetings have been held with the participation of foreign consultants, and we invite other experts to participate in the project," Vaezi added.
