Unprecedented gap between Iran’s imports, exports

Iran's non-oil exports (including condensates) surpassed $29.63 billion during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Nov. 22), indicating a fall by 10.48 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.

Gas condensate shared 17 percent of the exports, meanwhile petrochemical products accounted for 35 percent, the Iranian Customs Administration reported Nov. 26.

China, Iraq, the UAE, India and Afghanistan were the top Iranian goods importers during the 8-month period.

The Islamic Republic also imported $27.31 billion worth of goods during the period, 21 percent less in comparison with the same months of preceding year (March 21, Nov. 22, 2014).

The most important imported goods by Iran were: livestock corn with 3.4 percent share of overall imports, wheat (1.9 percent share), sedan cars (1.9 percent), soybean and soybean meal(1.9 percent each).

China, the UAE, South Korea, Turkey and Switzerland were the leading exporters of goods to Iran.
