Meanwhile the Islamic Republic is preparing for post-sanctions period, the official statistics unveil a significant fall in the country's non-oil foreign trade.

According to primarily brief statistics, released by Custom Administration, the country's total non-oil export (including gas condensate) decreased by 10.48 percent to $29.63 billion during the 8 months of current fiscal year, started on March 21. The imports also decreased by 21 percent during the mentioned period to $27.31 billion.

The latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), covering 7 months of Iran's fiscal year, indicates that Iran increased exports to some regions show huge increase while to some regions plunged.

During this period Iran's main exports decreased significantly in value despite increase in some commodities' volume.

Iran's imports, based on TAPI reports:

For instance, Iraq's gas condensate and petrochemicals export increased by 1.8 percent and 36 percent in value, but the first decreased by 41 percent and the second one remained approximately unchanged respectively.

Iran's minerals export decreased by 26 percent to 10.555 million tons and 44 percent to $497 million.

Agricultural products experienced a 12 percent and 14 percent decrease in value and volume to $2.048 billion and 2.139 million tons, while industrial products export decreased both by 3 percent in value to $8.338 billion and 9 percent in volume to 18 million tons.

During 7 months, Iran has planned to export more than $32 billion non-oil exports, but the figure stood at $19.254 billion.
