By Mehdi Sepahvand -- Trend:

Chinese car manufacturer Cherry is seeking to launch a big industrial zone in Iran, Director of Western Asia and North African Affairs at China's Foreign Ministry Dang Li said.

"I have seen there are a lot of motorbikes in Iran which are imported from China. I say why shouldn't the whole motorbike making factory be transferred to Iran?," he said, Iran's Fars news agency reported.

Like China, Iran has a dream about high development and the country can own a full industrial chain, the Chinese official stated.

He added that there are also some other Chinese companies that are seeking to launch steel factories in Iran.

Li made the remarks in a press conference where he announced a future visit by Chinese President to Iran. However, he said the exact time of the trip is not yet settled.

The president attaches a lot of significance to his trip to Iran, and during the visit attempt will be made to tighten trade relations between the two countries, he noted.

Trade exchange between Iran and China hit $47.5 billion in 2014, showing a 36-percent of growth compared with last year, China's General Administration of Customs announced. In 2013, bilateral trade turnover was $35 billion.

China's exports in 2014 amounted to $22 billion, which enjoyed a growth of 87 percent compared with last year's figure of $11.7 billion.

China's import from Iran in 2014 rose 10 percent and reached $25.5 billion from $23.1 billion in 2013.
