The Iranian government has privatized 130 million rials ($4.3 billion) worth of its owned assets in the last 9 months, according to the Privatization Organization.
Of that amount, some 116 trillion rials was given out in the stock market, 3.6 trillion over the counter (OTC), and 1.1 trillion through tenders, SHANA news agency reported December 30.
The report further adds that 110 trillion rials of the whole amount was given in blocks, 1.7 trillion gradually, and 15 trillion preferentially.
In its first session this year, the Privatization Organization selected 119 governmental companies for privatization by the end of the year (March 20).
Mirali Ashrafpouri Hosseini, head of the organization, said in October that since 2001, 1100 companies have been selected for privatization.
He noted that 120 companies were remaining to be privatized this year.
Hosseini added that 32 percent of the total privatizations were carried out by the Rouhani administration.
