No oil talks with US firms - Iranian official

Managing director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said that following the nuclear agreement, no talks have been made with the US companies to participate in Iran's oil projects, Irna reported Jan. 1.

Rokneddin Javadi added that despite the fact that many firms voiced readiness for participation in Iranian oil industry during the post-sanctions era, no US company was among them.

Asked whether the US firms had indirect application for presence in Iran's oil industry, he denied that, saying that Iran welcomes all investors in its oil industry under competitive terms.

To a question on the time for inauguration of the South Pars 15th and 16th phases, he said the Ministry of Petroleum is waiting for President Hassan Rouhani's order for going on stream.

Some $20 million will be added to the country's forex revenues once the two phases become operational, the CEO said.
