Iran's steel production decreases by 2.2%

Iran's steel output in the first quarter of 2016 dropped by 2.2 percent, said the report from the World Steel Association April 11.

Iran's output this March stood at 1.455 million tons, a 10.6 percent decline from March 2015's 1.315 million tons, said the report.

During the 1Q16, Iran produced 4.181 million tons of steel.

The country's steel output throughout 2015 is estimated to have hit 16.11 million tons. This in its own turn shows a decline of 1.4 percent year on year.

World crude steel production for the 66 countries reporting to the World Steel Association was 137 million tons in March 2016, indicates a 0.5% decrease compared to March 2015.
