Poland keen to invest in Iran’s oil, gas fields

Poland has expressed readiness to invest in Iran's small and medium-size oil and gas fields, Mohammad Ali Emadi, director for research and technology of National Iranian Oil Company, said.

He made the remarks following a meeting with Poland's visiting Deputy Energy Minister Michał Kurtyka in Tehran, the Iranian oil ministry's SHANA news agency reported May 8.

The Polish side is keen to cooperate for developing Iran's oil and gas fields, Emadi said.

Referring to polish firms' "good" potentials in oil and gas sector, Emadi said that cooperation in Iranian central oil fields was discussed during the meeting.

Managing Director of Iran's Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) Salbali Karimi, who was also present in the talks with Polish officials, said that the negotiations will continue.

Heading a 20-strong delegation of the representatives of renowned polish oil and energy companies, Poland's deputy energy minister arrived in Iran to attend the 21st International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition of Iran.

The polish delegation also participated at a commercial conference of Iran and Poland with deputy of international affairs of Iran Chamber of Commerce May 7.

During the conference, the two sides highlighted the need for boosting energy interactions.

The 21st International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition of Iran - Iran Oil Show 2016 - opened in Tehran on May 5.

Almost 1,900 companies - 900 from Iran and 880 from 38 countries - are showcasing their latest achievements in the Show which will continue until 8 May.
