Iran, Kyrgyzstan sign 4 MOUs

Iran and Kyrgyzstan signed four memorandums of understanding (MOUs) on the sidelines of their 11th bilateral meeting on joint economic, trade, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation in Bishkek.

The documents were signed by the Iranian Transportation Minister Abbas Akhoundi and his Kyrgyz counterpart Zamirbek Heydarov, the Iranian Embassy in Bishkek said May 14.

The documents cover issues such as engaging in joint investments, fighting money laundering, cooperation in energy sector, boosting bilateral trade, staging exhibitions, encouraging foreign investments, extra-territorial farming and cooperation in education.

During his visit to Kyrgyzstan, Akhoundi also met the country's President Almazbek Atambayev.

He also held a meeting with the Kyrgyzstan-based Iranian businessmen and discussed issues such as transportation facilities, visas, and customs tariffs.
