Iranian South Pars gas field's Phase 19 has been completed by 94 percent, says Hamid Reza Araghi, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

The Phase 19 will be inaugurated in the second half of the current fiscal year (Sept. 2016 - March 2017), Araghi said, the oil ministry's official SHANA news agency reported May 25.

Once completed, the Phase 19 of South Pars is planned to produce 50 million cubic meters of natural gas, 75,000 barrels of gas condensate, 2,800 tons of LPG, 2,700 tons of ethane and 400 tons of sulphur per day, he added.

The South Pars gas field's Phase 19 started injecting refined gas into the cross-country gas grid early this month.

South Pars is divided into 24 development phases and contains 40 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.

Iran produces over 420 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) of gas from South Pars, while the production level is projected to surpass 700 mcm/d by late 2018.
