Iran Central Bank: TSE surges by over 28% year-on-year

The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) has surged by 28.3 percent over the last Iranian calendar year that ended March 20, compared to the preceding year.

According to the latest statistics released by Central Bank of Iran, the main index in the last Iranian calendar year reached 80,219 points, which stood at 62531.8 points in the preceding year.

Meanwhile, the main index soared by 3 percent in the 12th month of the last year (February 20-March 19), month-on-month.

According to the statistics, the TSE financial index increased 17.1 percent over the last year.

The statistics also suggests that the industrial index hiked by 30.6 percent, the top 50 performers index soared by 26.3 percent, the primary market index rose by 25.8 percent and the secondary market index increased by 33.2 percent year-on-year.

While the number of the traded shares surged by 37.9 percent, the value of trading in the TSE dropped by 12.7 percent.

The number of the companies listed at the TSE increased by 1.6 percent, while the market capitalization hiked by 22.4 percent year-on-year.
