Turkey imports 2.6 million tons Iranian oil in 1H16

Turkey imported 2,625,697 tons of Iranian crude oil during the first half of 2016, statistics of Turkey Energy Market Regulatory indicate. The volume equals to 106,175 barrels per day.

The reports didn't elaborate the country's oil imports statistics in the same period of last year, but Iran currently shares about 13 percent in Turkey's total crude oil imports.

Turkey was importing about 180,000 barrels per day of Iranian crude oil before the western countries impose sanctions on Iran in 2012.

The sanctions was removed in January 2016, but the statistics indicate that Iran couldn't resume its share in Turkey markets.

The report also says that Turkey's petroleum products exports to Iran also stood at 7,549tons.
