Iran’s non-oil exports to South Korea up 14 times

Five countries including China, UAE, Iraq, Turkey, and South Korea imported 67 percent of Iran's total non-oil goods in terms of value in the first five months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 20- Aug. 21, 2016).

China was the main importer of goods from Iran in the mentioned period. The country's imports accounted for 17.8 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of value, according to the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Iran exported $3.405 billion worth of goods to China during the five-month period, indicating a rise by 3 percent year-on-year.

Iran also exported $2.914 billion worth of goods to the UAE (16 percent fall), which marks 15.3 percent of Iran's total exports’ value.

Iraq ($2.485 billion), Turkey (with $2.251 billion), South Korea ($1.741 billion), India ($1.256 billion), Afghanistan ($964 million), Japan ($549 million), Pakistan ($333 million) and Oman ($321 million) were other top importers of Iranian goods.

Iran's exports to South Korea registered a huge rise by 1407 percent in the period, meanwhile the country's exports to UAE and Iraq decreased by 16 and 2 percent.

Tehran's exports to the Turkey and India increased by 9 and 10 percent respectively compared with the 5-month period of preceding year.

Meanwhile Afghanistan and Japan imports from Iran witnessed fall by 8 and 13 percent respectively during the same period.
