Iran’s non-oil exports hit $22B in 6 months

Iran's non-oil exports including gas condensates reached $21.706 billion during the first half of the current Iranian fiscal year (started March 20, 2016).

The figure indicates a rise by 5.9 percent compared to the same period of preceding year, Iran's Custom Administration reported Sept. 26.

Iran includes gas condensate and some raw hydrocarbon products like propane, butane, etc in its non-oil export basket.

The Islamic Republic exported $2.6 billion worth of non-oil goods in the sixth Iranian calendar month (Aug. 21-Sept. 21).

During the six-month period, the country exported $3.496 billion worth of condensate, which indicates a 12.85 percent decrease year-to-year, while the petrochemical products export increased by 22.4 percent to $8.698 billion.

Petrochemical products shared 7.4 percent of Iran’s total non-oil exports in terms of value.

Liquefied gas worth $1.94 billion, petroleum gases and gas hydrocarbons ($836 million), light oils and products (except for gasoline) worth $688 million and liquefied propane ($636 million) where other top exported goods in first half of current fiscal year.

China was the main importer of the Iranian goods during the six-month period. Iran exported $3.998 billion worth of goods to China, indicating a rise by 1.9 percent year-on-year.

The United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Turkey and South Korea were other top importer of Iranian non-oil goods during the first half of the current fiscal year.

Iran’s non-oil exports to the UAE witnessed a fall by 18.5 percent to $3.401 billion, meanwhile exports to Iraq decreased by 3.4 percent to $2.976 billion.

Iran also exported $2.321 billion and $1.78 billion worth of goods to Turkey and South Korea respectively in the period.
