The provincial gas company in Iranian West Azerbaijan Province has laid 900 kilometers of pipeline over the past seven months.

Mansour Sadeqian, the head of the provincial gas company, has said that the company is currently working on supplying gas to 114 villages and six cities in the province, SHANA news agency reported.

According to the official, the company, so far, has laid 11,467 kilometers of pipeline in the province.

Iran introduced three cross-country gas pipeline projects – IGAT 6, 9 and 11 – to foreign investors on Oct. 10 during a meeting of the World Energy Congress 2016 in Istanbul.

The projects worth $12 billion will be delivered to foreign and local companies based on build-operate-transfer (BOT), build-own-operate (BOO), and engineering, procurement, construction and financing (EPCF) contracts.

The IGAT 6 and 9 were aimed at exporting South Pars field’s gas to Iraq and Turkey respectively, while IGAT 11 is projected to boost gas supplies from South Pars to Iran’s north-eastern regions.
