Iran will load a new platform for the phase 17 of South Pars gas field, called B17 to be installed on Oct.18, Hassan Boyreri, the managing director of development phases 17&18, told Shana.

The 2300-ton platform would add 14.5 million cubic meters per day (mcm) of gas. The facility would be installed next month and be commenced in February 2017.

Phases 17&18 are aimed at producing 56 mcm/d of gas, as well as 80,000 barrels of gas condensate per day. The annual propane ad ethane output of these phases would be 1.05 million tons.

South Pars, a joint field between Iran and Qatar, is divided to 28 standard phases. Each is aimed at producing 25 mcm/d of gas. Currently, Iran’s production capacity from the field, with 13-14 trillion cubic meters of reserves in Iranian territory, stands at around 450 mcm/d.

Iran plans to increase this volume to 535 mcm/d by March 2017 and above 700 mcm/d by 2020.
