TSE main index up by 19.7% year-on-year

The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) surged by 19.7 percent in a period of one month between July 22 and August 21 (fifth Iranian calendar month) year-on-year.

According to the latest statistics released by Central Bank of Iran, the main index in the mentioned month reached 78086 points.

This is while the main index last year in the same period stood at 65225.

According to the statistics, the TSE financial index increased 14.5 percent year on year hitting 157238 points.

The statistics also suggests that the industrial index hiked by 20.8 percent posting 64961 points.

The top 50 performers index soared by 16.2 percent to stand at 3180 points.

Meanwhile the first market index rose by 19.5 percent to reach 55181 and the second market index increased by 20 percent hitting 167604 points.

The value of traded shares in the TSE stood at $1.296 billion (41.021 trillion rials converted to UD dollar according to official rate Oct.17) indicating 77.3 percent increase year-on-year.

The number of the traded shares also surged by 102 percent as 19.681 billion shares were traded in the fifth Iranian calendar month.

The number of the companies listed at the TSE increased by 0.9 percent reaching 321.

The market capitalization also hiked by 13.3 percent reaching $102.066 million.
