Over 40% of Iranian governmental bonds sold

The value of governmental bonds sold during the first five months of the current Iranian fiscal year (since March 20) reached 21.941 trillion rials ($692.6 million).

This amount constituted 41 percent of the entire bonds issued by the Iranian government during the five-month period, which were valued at 52.958 trillion rials ($1.7 billion), IRNA news agency reported October 21.

The report added that the stock index for the fifth Iranian month of Mordad (July 22 to August 21) hit 78,086, showing 19.7 percent growth from the same period a year earlier.

Also the value of traded shares on the stock market reached $1.3 billion, indicating a growth of 77.3 percent year-on-year.
