Iran’s biggest ever power is going to come on stream soon, Thermal Power Plan Holding official Mehran Golabkesh said.

He explained the grid will be officially inaugurated in a few days when President Hassan Rouhani visits Markazi Province, IRIB news agency reported October 22.

Stretched from Khuzestan to Luristan and then Markazi Province, the power line is 322 kilometers long, Golabkesh noted.

The grid will serve to connect the power systems of south to west and will help increase the stability of the national grid, he stated.

The 400 kilo volt power grid cost $34.7 million, he said, adding that except for the fiber optic, all other materials used in the project were Iranian-made.
