Three foreign banks are in the process of launching branches in Iran, according to Central Bank of Iran’s Vice Governor for Economy Peyman Ghorbani.
These are the Omani Bank Muscat SAOG, the Korean Woori Bank and India’s UCO Bank, he told Fars news agency November 2.
Ghorbani made the statement in answer to the question whether a recent Bloomberg quotation of him to the same effect was correct.
Reuters also published the story with only a headline, but in the body it referred to the Bloomberg page with a notice that it could not verify its accuracy.
